Girls Track & Field: Cali Cramer
At our first meet of the season on Wednesday against Alexander and Wheatland-Chili, Cali competed in three events AND she won ALL THREE OF THEM. The 100 Meter Dash (0:13.00), 200 Meter Dash (0:28.00), and 400 Meter Dash (1:05.50)! If that wasn't enough, the Senior Captain achieved a lifetime best in the 100 Meters, which moves her up to having the FIFTH BEST 100 Meter Dash time in School History. Cali also improved her ranking in the 400 Meter Dash by earning the 21st fastest time in school history! Cali is a superior leader on the track and in the classroom. She is super involved in Student Council, Link Crew, and is a positive role-model for all. Congratulations Cali and keep up the great work!
Boys Track & Field: Dylan Rendon
Junior Thrower Dylan Rendon has had a FANTASTIC start to his Outdoor Track and Field season! At our first meet of the season on Wednesday against Alexander and Wheatland-Chili, Dylan WON the Discus Throw competition and finished SECOND in the Shot Put! In Discus, Dylan threw 125' 6" which is a LIFETIME BEST and a 16' 3" improvement from last year. That launch soared Dylan to claiming the 15th Best Discus Throw in School History. And in the Shot Put, Dylan threw 43' 9" which is ANOTHER LIFETIME BEST for him and a TWO FOOT improvement from last year. That performance earned Dylan the 20th Best Shot Put Throw in School History. Dylan is also very active with the Town of Alabama Fire Department, where he is currently taking classes to become an Emergency Medical Technician. Congratulations Dylan and keep up the good work!
Softball: Emma Thompson
In her first week on the Varsity Softball team, Emma went 6-11 in 4 wins for OA and was selected as the Barker Bulldog Tournament MVP as she reached base safely in 8 out of her 9 plate appearances and went 4-6 with 4 RBI's in two games in the tournament.
