Dear Oakfield-Alabama School District Community,

Welcome back! As we prepare to begin the 2026–2027 school year, there is an incredible sense of excitement and possibility throughout our school community. A new school year brings a fresh start, new opportunities, and the chance to build upon the many successes of the year before.

At the heart of everything we do are our amazing students. Their curiosity, creativity, determination, and unique talents inspire us every day. We are eager to welcome them back to our classrooms, hallways, athletic fields, laboratories, and to create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, challenged, and excited to learn.

We are equally fortunate to have an exceptional team of dedicated staff members who bring compassion, creativity, and commitment to their work each day. Our teachers, support staff, coaches, administrators, and all members of our school team are ready to greet our students with positivity and encouragement while helping them discover their strengths and prepare for bright and successful futures.

And, of course, we are grateful for our families. Your partnership, encouragement, and support are essential to the success of our students and our schools. Together, we form a strong community that believes in our children and is committed to helping them thrive.

This summer has also brought exciting improvements to our district. We are thrilled to celebrate the completion of our new softball and baseball fields, providing our student-athletes with wonderful spaces to learn, compete, and create lasting memories. We have made amazing updates to a variety of our elementary classroom spaces, as well as significant improvements to our high school science rooms, creating modern and engaging environments that support hands-on learning and discovery.

We are also pleased to have completed important repairs to our school pool and much-needed paving work near the Middle School/High School campus. These improvements represent our ongoing commitment to providing safe, welcoming, and high-quality facilities for our students, staff, and community.

There truly is excitement in the air as we look ahead to the first day of school. We are ready to begin a year filled with learning, growth, creativity, connection, and opportunity. Most importantly, we are ready to welcome our students with the positivity, support, and encouragement they deserve as we help prepare them not only for their next grade level, but for their futures beyond Oakfield-Alabama.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. I am incredibly proud to be part of this district and of our students, grateful for our staff, and appreciative of the continued partnership of our families. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together this year.

We can't wait to see everyone on September 9th for the first day of school for K-12!

Here’s to a wonderful new beginning and an amazing 2026–2027 school year!

In Partnership,

Loran B. Carter
