Introducing New Dismiss

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to announce with the start of the 25-26 school year, OA Elementary will be implementing a new, secure, and efficient student dismissal system called Guardian Dismissal. Going forward, this new procedure will take the place of the old windshield sheets. This new platform will enhance student safety and streamline our end-of-day dismissal process for both families and staff and will begin on the first day of school. Please note that new procedures take time to implement, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we adjust. We believe this change is well worth the effort, as it plays an important role in keeping our students safe.

  1. Line up in the parent pickup lane
  2. Have your QR code visible in the pickup line (printed on your dash or on your phone).
    1. We are asking that all pickups happen in the carline for a smoother and safer reunification process. Crossing both adults and students causes a safety hazard and slows down flow of dismissal.
    2. If you must park in the lot, walk to the flagpole, show your QR code to staff, and wait for your student(s). Car line pickups will be prioritized over parking lots for a faster and safer dismissal.

 Please pick up your QR code at Open House or complete the registration process prior to the first day of school.

 

📝 What You Need to Do:

  1. Visit OA Hornets home page and scroll down to “Elementary Dismiss” or click here: Visitor Aware

  2. Set Up Your Account: Follow the instructions to create your profile and add any authorized pick-up persons. Complete your profile to see and save your QR code.
     
  3. Update Dismissal Preferences: Log into the system to set your child’s typical dismissal method and make any changes as needed throughout the year using the link on our website or by bookmarking https://app.visitor-aware.com/guardian/login on your phone
     
  4.  Please pick up your QR code at Open House or complete the registration process prior to the first day of school. Mrs. Stephanie Underhill will be located near the main entrance on 8/27 from 3-6 pm to assist anyone with this process.

  • Secure Pick-Up: Only approved guardians (as listed in the system) can check out a student.
  • Real-Time Updates: Receive notifications when your child is dismissed.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Update your child’s dismissal plan (car rider, bus, walker, etc.) right from your phone or computer.
  • Faster Dismissal: Speeds up the car line and improves end-of-day logistics.
  • No App Required!  All changes can be made using the link on our website, although we recommend you do bookmark the website for easier access.
